The Zimbabwe Chess Federation (ZCF) is pleased to officially announce that the 2025 CABS Candidates Chess Tournament will take place from 19–22 December 2025 at the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) in Bulawayo.
Proudly organised by the Zimbabwe Chess Federation and generously sponsored by CABS, this prestigious tournament remains a cornerstone on the national chess calendar. It provides a competitive platform for Zimbabwean players to demonstrate their strategic ability, discipline, and mastery of the game. The event continues to play a vital role in identifying and nurturing top chess talent across the country.
A comprehensive official tournament brochure containing details on registration, format, schedule, rules, and prize structure will be released soon. Players and stakeholders are encouraged to stay alert for the announcement and begin making the necessary preparations.
The tournament is open to Zimbabwean players of all age groups, ensuring broad participation and inclusivity. Importantly, winners of both the Open Section and the Ladies Section will earn automatic qualification for the 2026 National Chess Championships, making this event a key milestone in the national competitive pathway.
