Coaching & Capacity Development

The Zimbabwe Chess Federation (ZCF) recognizes that the growth and sustainability of chess in the country depend on the continuous development of skilled coaches, arbiters, and administrators. Through its Coaching and Capacity Development Program, ZCF is committed to strengthening the technical foundation of the sport by investing in human capital and knowledge transfer.

The Federation facilitates training and certification programs for coaches and arbiters in accordance with FIDE standards, ensuring that the game is taught, managed, and officiated with professionalism and integrity. These programs are conducted through workshops, seminars, and mentorship initiatives led by accredited local and international experts.

ZCF also promotes capacity building at provincial and district levels, empowering regional chess associations and schools with the expertise and resources needed to nurture talent from the grassroots. This decentralized approach ensures consistent quality in coaching and competition management across the country.

In addition, the Federation prioritizes continuous professional development, encouraging coaches and officials to stay updated with modern training methodologies, digital learning tools, and evolving global best practices.

Through these structured efforts, ZCF is creating a robust ecosystem of qualified professionals who will drive the strategic development of chess in Zimbabwe fostering excellence, fairness, and sustainability in every aspect of the game.
