The Zimbabwe Chess Federation (ZCF) is inviting corporates, institutions, government ministries, professional bodies, and other organisations to partner with the Federation in developing workplace chess and corporate chess programmes.
Chess offers a unique platform for employee wellness, engagement, team building, strategic thinking, and healthy competition. Organisations can incorporate chess into their employee wellness programmes through regular chess sessions, internal competitions, inter-company tournaments, and sectoral or ministerial chess championships.
As a technical partner, ZCF will provide the expertise and professional support required to ensure that chess activities are conducted to a high standard and in accordance with current FIDE Laws of Chess and applicable tournament regulations.
What ZCF Can Provide
Through these partnerships, ZCF can support organisations with:
♟️ Technical Tournament Support — Guidance on tournament formats, pairings, time controls, scoring systems, and standardized procedures.
♟️ Qualified Match Officials — Provision or coordination of experienced arbiters to oversee games and ensure consistent application of the Laws of Chess.
♟️ Chess Equipment — Assistance with the provision and coordination of chess boards, pieces, clocks, scoresheets, and other tournament requirements.
♟️ Tournament Administration — Technical guidance from registration and player management through to pairings, results, standings, and final classifications.
♟️ Employee Wellness Chess Sessions — Support for organisations seeking to introduce chess as part of their employee wellness and recreational programmes.
♟️ Corporate & Sectoral Competitions — Assistance in organising inter-company, institutional, departmental, and ministerial chess championships that provide employees with opportunities to compete, connect, and build relationships beyond the workplace.
The Federation believes that chess belongs everywhere—including the workplace. By partnering with ZCF, organisations can create structured opportunities for employees to engage in a game that promotes concentration, strategic thinking, discipline, decision-making, and healthy competition.
A Growing Corporate Chess Culture
The 2026 Minerva Corporates Individual Chess Championship provided a strong example of how chess can be incorporated into the corporate environment, bringing professionals together around the board while creating an engaging and competitive experience. The event also demonstrated the value of corporate partnerships, with participants receiving gift bags courtesy of Minerva.
ZCF welcomes organisations interested in establishing corporate chess clubs, workplace chess programmes, inter-company leagues, or sector-specific championships to engage with the Federation.
Partner with Zimbabwe Chess Federation and bring the game of strategy, intellect and possibility to your workplace.
