The Zimbabwe Chess Federation (ZCF) is proud to announce the successful commencement of the National Arbiter Seminar in Matabeleland South Province, marking yet another significant step in strengthening chess development at grassroots level.
The two-day seminar is being hosted at Manama High School, a venue that has become a vibrant hub of learning and growth for aspiring and existing arbiters in the province. Participants are engaging in intensive training sessions designed to enhance their understanding of chess rules, tournament management, and officiating standards in line with national and international requirements.
This important initiative is being conducted under the ZCF’s developmental theme, “Chess Kumusha” a powerful vision aimed at taking chess to the communities, nurturing talent from the grassroots, and ensuring inclusivity across all regions of Zimbabwe. By bringing such programs closer to local communities, the federation continues to break barriers and create opportunities for wider participation in the sport.
The seminar is expected to equip attendees with critical skills and knowledge that will improve the quality of officiating in local tournaments, while also preparing them for higher certification levels in the future. It further reflects ZCF’s commitment to capacity building and sustainable growth within the chess ecosystem.
As the sessions unfold over the two days, the federation remains optimistic that this initiative will leave a lasting impact in Matabeleland South and contribute meaningfully to the broader vision of developing chess nationwide.
ZCF applauds all participants and organizers for their dedication to advancing chess at the grassroots level.
